I participated in my third 42.2 KM marathon of 2022, having previously run the BMO Vancouver Marathon and the Tartan Ottawa International Marathon both in May. The Servus Edmonton Marathon was held on Sunday, August 21, 2022, and I ran a personal best of 4:00:20 sec. I nearly ran a sub-four-hour time on this particular run trail.

Here is a breakdown of my race time at the 2022 Edmonton Marathon:

The last 2 KM was the toughest part of this particular race.

Sub-Four Hour Goal

I would be aiming for a sub-four-hour marathon time for my next race. My ultimate goal is to qualify for the 2024 Boston Marathon which has a 3:05min:00sec qualifying time for my age bracket. I still have a long way to go, but I need to first run a sub-four-hour time in 2022. By 2023, I should crack the 3:05min:00sec time.

I have been making progress with my time since the beginning of the year. Here are my marathon race time for 2022 thus far:

Medal after the Marathon

I am getting closer to my goal of qualifying for Boston with each race. I still have 2-3 full marathons to run in 2022 and am aiming to run a 3:30 minute time in 2022.

10K Races

I have also participated in some warmup 10K races in 2022:

My goal for the 10KM marathon is to run sub 40 minutes in 2022. It is not going to be easy to crack these goals but with training, consistency and execution; it is going to happen.
