In the 1994 movie Forrest Gump, the lead character, played by Tom Hank, said, “Momma always said life was like a box of chocolates.  You never know what you’re gonna get.” Life is a rollercoaster of ups and downs, twists and turns, peaks and valleys. You are either leaving, entering, or going through a storm. Life is a daily exercise in trying to figure it out. It is easy to stay calm during great moments in life; the real test is where one stands during the turbulent vicissitudes of life.

Daily Calm with Tamara Levitt – Steps

Don’t rush the process; a seed planted today will not sprout a towering tree by tomorrow. Although it might not seem like anything is happening at first, the seed must grow root down into the earth before it can pierce through the surface of the soil. As we walk and follow our path, there will be ups and downs, lessons and setbacks, gifts and challenges. Like any art form or skillset, we grow stronger over time, we cultivate deeper awareness and patience. Every tiny step is part of the process, every small and dedicated act is nudging you forward.

“i am not fully healed
i am not fully wise
i am still on my way
what matters is that
i am still moving forward”

Daily Jay with Jay Shetty – Distress? No, Passion

Daily Trip with Jeff Warren – Vertical Thinking

When there is a problem that needs to be solved, our mind have a tendency to ruminate, we observe and argue with ourselves. This is horizontal thinking, the thinking that most of us do most of the time  and a lot of it is important. Vertical thinking is the one we do when we pause in our thinking and our mind gets quite and roomy. Vertical thinking is creative thinking but it requires a bit of space. In meditation, we practice unhooking from our thinking, and when the mind gets quieter, there is more room for these creative upwellings. They might come as an idea, an aha moment, a fresh connection or an insight.
